Blood Angels Lightning Claw Terminator done!

Just a quick one to post up my lightning claw terminator which I just finished. Most of my time lately has been spent working on my mars/baal terrain board which will be coming soon after a long absence.

I always liked this model, lightning claws are so damn funky even if they did get nerfed to AP3 :( oh well!

I'm far from an expert, so feel free to let me know what you think, your helpful comments can only help to improve my painting! Complete board coming soon to follow!

I like! Simple and effective, the power fields to the claws could have been metallic, but not 100% necessary.

Good work on the terminator, I personally like the blue claws they really pop out from the red.

Your Terminators are looking pimp, dude. The claws are done nicely. Can you give me a run down how you painted the armouir?

Cheers, the armour is same as I do all my Blood Angels, its just basecoat spray with army painter pure red, then I wash the model into all the cracks gaps and crevices with the gw black wash (now called nuln oil i believe). When thats done I just clean up the model painting blood red (now evil sunz scarlett) over all the armour plates avoiding the gaps where the wash went in.

After that its just a case of highlighting with some orange (troll slayer orange) in a few places i tried to wet blend it together with the red, others are just line highlights. Simple really just like my painting skill level :)

Is the pure red like baal red foundation paint?

I've never used it, its fairly light though its nearly the same shade as blood red layer paint (evil suns scarlet) its certainly darker than the old mechrite red foundation paint.

Mechrite red is the one I am thinking off. Baal red is the wash.

Nope, its much lighter, but there is one i think called dragon red or something like that which is the same as mechrite

must say, you model is nicely paint! I too have assault termies and it is a shame that they got nerfed... now what am I going to do with 10 lighting claw?
