Today’s first game we have Marine Favourite Calgar vs Nid big bug the Swarmlord. No points for either yet (though swarmy hasn’t fought yet) so both are looking for their first scores on the board.

Calgar’s shooting begins with 1 hit, it wounds but is saved, swarmy pulls out his usual psychic tricks starting with a paroxysm which goes through and a psychic scream which does nothing. Into combat then and the Swarmlord hits and wounds 4 times, 2 are failed after re-rolls but Calgar has EW so it continues. Hits back Calgar does not not hit at all due to paroxysm. Morale tests are passed and its onto the next round.
Swarmy this time hits twice and wounds twice, both are saved this time however. Calgar hits back getting 2 hits and then 2 wounds, but both are saved by the Swarmlord’s ++.
Swarmy lands only 1 hit this time but it wounds and the save is failed leaving Calgar on 1 wound. Hits back he gets 2 hits and 2 wounds, 1 goes through so it’s a tie combat.
Next round swarmy hits twice and wounds twice however on the re-roll one inv save is failed and Calgar falls, it’s a first 3 points for the Swarmlord.
Today’s second game and main event features Abbadon and the Sanguinor and this one should be fairly meaty, with good stats, a bucket load of attacks and decent saves all round, it could go either way.

Abbadon shoots, hits and wounds but it is saved. Into combat they go, striking at the same time, Abbadon rolls 2 for his daemon weapon and hits 6 times followed by 4 wounds, only 1 is failed leaving the Sanguinor on 2 wounds. Hits back he lands 7 hits (I give +2 for charging with wings) and then without the help of re-rolls 7 wounds as well, its some power rolling. Abbadon rolls his saves and scores 3, meaning he fails by 4 and dies.
So this one is over faster than expected, it’s a first round KO with some lucky rolling from the Sanguinor, his re-rolling ability certainly helping him when hitting then purely lucky dice taking the chaos lord down.
