Here we have the final games of the 40k Normal point character league
As we move onto the final set of games of the league, we see there are 6 fixtures remaining.
Straken | vs | Eldrad |
Sicarius | vs | Vulkan |
Kharne | vs | Sicarius |
Straken | vs | Cannis |
Eldrad | vs | Cannis |
Kharne | vs | Vulkan |
As such what I am going to do is complete all six games today and post them here in the order of which I found were the most interesting and fun match-ups. Due to this people can just skip the ones at the end that might be a bit dull (like most Eldrad fights it seems).
So here we go…
Kharne vs Sicarius
Both combatants begin by shooting a plasma pistol, they both hit and they both wound, Kharne fails his save however but Sicarius passes his. Into combat and Kharne goes first, he hits 6 times, wounds 4 times, 2 get through, leaving Sicarius on 1 wound. In reply Sicarius hits 4 times, 3 are saved and Kharne takes a wound. Ld test is passed.
Second round Kharne hits and wounds 5 times, killing Sicarius. In reply as it’s the same initiative, Sicarius hits once and wounds once but its saved.
Straken vs Cannis
Only shooting here is Straken, his guards miss, Straken hits and wounds, Cannis takes a wound. Onto combat and Cannis hits 6 times and wounds 5 times, killing 4 veterans and a bodyguard. Hits back the bodyguard hits and wounds once but its saved, Straken hits 3 times and wounds twice, taking 2 wounds off Cannis, killing him. So bit of a shocker here, seemed that Straken just had what it takes against Cannis, lots of wounds.
Eldrad vs Cannis
To begin with Eldrad launches his mind wars, he takes a wound from Cannis with them leaving him on 2. Onto combat and the both go at the same time. Eldrad hits and wounds twice, killing Cannis, however at the same time Cannis hits 6 times and wounds 6 times, first time around 3 saves are failed, out of those re-rolls only 1 wound is taken so Eldrad wins this Battle. The dirty Eldar save again proving too much for a high numbers of attacks.
Kharne vs Vulkan
Shooting and both characters hit and wound each other, the following armour saves/inv saves are failed and both begin the fight with 2 wounds each. Kharne hits 6 times and wounds 6 times, rolling 3 1’s this one is all over and Kharne rips Vulkan apart.
Straken vs Eldrad
Straken begins with shooting, his bodyguards don’t wound and he hits, wounds but its saved. Eldrad throws in 2 mind wars, killing 1 veteran. Onto combat and Eldrad kills 2 veterans, hitting back the remaining bodyguards hit 4 times, wound once and it’s saved, Straken hits once, wounds once and its saved. 1 More veteran dies from the following fearless saves.
Second round Eldrad hits once wounds once and then kills a bodyguard, hits back the bodyguard misses, Straken hits and wounds 4 times but all 4 are saved first time. Fearless save is passed.
Round three Eldrad kills the remaining bodyguard, Straken hits 4 times, wounds 3 times but all are saved.
Round four, Eldrad misses, Straken hits 4 times, wounds 3 times and again, all are saved.
Round Five Eldrad hits and wounds once, taking a wound off Straken. In reply Straken hits and wounds once, but it’s saved on the second try. Fearless save is passed.
Round six, Eldrad hits and wounds twice, killing Straken.
So it’s over and to be fair was a fairly dull fight as are most with Eldrad in my opinion! 3++ re-roll is just wrong.
Sicarius vs Vulkan
In combat both of these guys have a very similar stat line with Vulkan having the edge with better wargear, and a better save, so lets see what happens.
Sicarius starts with a shot, he hits, wounds but its saved by Vulkan’s inv save, Vulkan hits but misses. Onto combat, Sicarius hits 5 times wounds 4 times and Vulkan takes a wound. Vulkan hits twice, wounds once and Sicarius takes a wound.
Next round, Sicarius goes for a cheeky ID shot, he hits and wounds, but the inv save catches it. Vulkan hits once wounds once but its saved.
Round 3 Sicarius goes for the ID again, it hits and wounds but the Inv save catches it again. Vulkan hits twice and wounds twice, Sicarius takes a wound leaving him on 1. ld test passed.
Round 4 Sicarius again goes for the ID shot, this time it hits, wounds but the LD test is failed killing Vulkan, however can he also kill Sicarius this round, he hits 3 times, wounds once but its then saved! Sicarius pulls a win out of no-where with his special ability.
****
So there we go, the final League standings are as follows –
P | W | L | Points | |
Eldrad | 5 | 4 | 1 | 12 |
Kharne | 5 | 4 | 1 | 12 |
Cannis | 5 | 2 | 3 | 6 |
Straken | 5 | 2 | 3 | 6 |
Sicarius | 5 | 2 | 3 | 6 |
Vulkan | 5 | 1 | 4 | 3 |
Eldrad on equal points as Kharne, however as Eldrad beat Kharne in their match previously, Eldrad is the overall winner. I hope you enjoyed the first matches of this series, coming soon we will have the elites, characters over 220 points and oh there are some meaty battles in there.
Really enjoyed it. Looking forward to the big boys.
